Polish B1 sample tests — what the questions look like
3 min read

The best way to prepare for the Polish B1 exam is to work through sample tests in the exam format — that way you learn the task types, get used to the timing and know what to expect. Below we show what the questions look like in each of the five parts, and where to do them online for free.
What the exam test consists of
The B1 certificate exam tests five skills in separate parts. Every exercise pack on Polski B1 mirrors this layout, so you do exactly the task types you'll see on the real exam:
| Part | Typical tasks in the test |
|---|---|
| Listening | true/false, multiple choice, gap-filling after a recording |
| Reading | questions about a text, matching headings, understanding details |
| Grammar | gap-filling, correct forms, sentence transformations |
| Writing | e-mail, letter, announcement, a short piece on a topic |
| Speaking | photo description, monologue, communicative situation |
What the questions look like in each part
Listening
You hear a short recording — a dialogue, an announcement or a statement — and answer questions about its content. The most common formats are true/false and choosing one of several answers. The key is to catch a specific piece of information, not to understand every word.
Reading
You get everyday texts (announcements, e-mails, article excerpts) and questions that check whether you understand their meaning and details. Matching tasks and multiple-choice questions are common.
Grammar
Correctness is what counts here: inflection by case, verb forms, the right endings. The tasks are usually gap-filling with the correct form and sentence transformation.
Writing
You produce a shorter or longer practical form — most often an e-mail or a letter — following the prompt. Both the content (whether you completed the task) and the language correctness are assessed. You can practise this part with AI evaluation, which points out mistakes and suggests corrections.
Speaking
The oral part has three tasks: photo description, a monologue on a given topic and a communicative situation. It's worth practising them out loud — including with AI evaluation, which checks your response for grammar, vocabulary and fluency.
Where to do sample tests online

On Polski B1 there are six sample test packs — each one covers all five parts of the exam. You can start with any of them:
All the tests are free and run in your browser. The closed tasks (listening, reading, grammar) are checked automatically, and writing and speaking are evaluated by AI.
