Polish B1 exam dates 2026 — sessions, registration, results

The state Polish B1 certificate exam (egzamin certyfikatowy) is held in five sessions a year (Saturday–Sunday), and B1 for adults is offered at all five 2026 sessions. You register directly with an exam centre, usually about two months before the session — and then you wait roughly 5–6 months for the certificate itself.

2026 exam sessions
The State Commission publishes five weekend sessions per year. The levels differ between sessions — B1 for adults is in every one of them:

The 2027 dates have not been published yet — the annual schedule is released later on certyfikatpolski.pl.

How registration works
There is no single central sign-up list — you register directly with the exam centre you choose, and the State Commission publishes the list of centres for each session as a PDF on certyfikatpolski.pl. This matters, because not every centre runs every session — the city where you sat the exam last time may not host the next one.
In practice:
- Check the list of centres for your chosen session in the centres section on certyfikatpolski.pl.
- Pick a centre in your city (or abroad — sessions are also held outside Poland).
- Register with that centre and pay the fee following its instructions.
Registration opens roughly two months before the session, and places are limited. Popular centres in big cities can fill up quickly, so if a particular date and city matter to you, don't leave it to the last minute.

These are the statutory maximums (set as the equivalent of a euro rate), so the złoty amount can vary slightly between centres and sessions — some charge less. Confirm current fees on the fees page. More on cost and cities: how much the B1 exam costs and where to take it.
When results and the certificate arrive
This is where patience is needed: the certificate typically takes about 5–6 months to arrive after the exam. That matters if you need it for a specific official case — an application for uznanie za obywatela (citizenship by recognition) or for the EU long-term resident permit (colloquially karta stałego pobytu). When you pick an exam date, plan for that half-year lag and choose a session with time to spare.
A reminder of the pass rule, too: an adult must score at least 50% in each module of the written part and at least 50% in the oral part. The average doesn't count — one weak module means a failed exam.
What to do now
- Choose a session and count backwards. If the certificate has to reach an office by a given date, subtract ~6 months for the result and a few more weeks for registration.
